Grab your fat bike buddies and join us for the first ever FAT BIKE Syrup Circuit hosted by the Sno Chalet at Punderson State Park and sponsored by Eddy’s Bike Shop and Ohio State Parks and Watercraft. The course will send you flying out of the gate, straight down the sledding hill, into the woods and onto the trails for a fun multi-lap race over challenging terrain. Top 3 fastest times per category/race will win awesome merchandise including real Geauga maple syrup. We are hoping for cold and snow, but whatever the weather, it is sure to be a fun adventure with just the right amount of competition thrown in.
No bike? No problem! Fat bike rentals are available through Eddy’s Bike Shop and should be reserved in advance by calling 440-943-2453.
The Sno Chalet will be open on race day for hanging out, warming, having fun and WAFFLES. Awesome food and beverages will be served throughout the event. The Sno Chalet is famous for their authentic Belgian Liege waffles, unique comfort food and Rising Star Coffee espresso drinks. Racers will be start the day with a complimentary pre-race snack and hydration. The party continues when the races conclude with awards, kids races, fat bike try-its, music, fire, food, beverage and if weather permits, FREE snow tubing. Snow tube rental is available at no charge with a driver’s license. The tow-lift will be operating to carry you back to the top of the hill. This is sure to be a favorite annual winter event.

1:30 pm – 3 pm Bike Try-its, FREE Snow Tubing, weather permitting. Fun things to do inside and out.
Be prepared to ride a designated number of laps thru off-road and on-road trails throughout Punderson State Park. We will kick off the race at the highest peak of our awesome snow tubing hill and head straight down. Course is designed for all weather conditions and will be marked throughout. Riders will begin the race with a mass start.
Prizes awarded to Top 3 in each category.
We have five categories: Juniors <18; Men 18+ Novice, Intermediate & Elite Women 18+ Novice, Intermediate & Elite. All riders self-select into categories and all riders will be timed. Bib numbers will be provided.
Single race fee 18+ – $30 preregister includes beer wristband
Juniors – $15 preregister
Rider cap will be 200 riders.
Riders must have the following:
1. Cycling specific helmet. CPSC, ANSI or SNELL approved. Chinstraps must be fastened and helmet properly fit.
2. Eye protection strongly recommended.
3. Handle bar ends must have plugs.
4. Bike with both tires over 3.7” will be allowed.
5. Both pages of the waiver filled out including a “wet signature.”
Weather Contingency Plan
This is a winter event, however be prepared for changeable conditions. Please dress and prepare accordingly. The event promoter reserves the right to shorten, cancel or postpone the event if weather conditions threaten the safety of participants and race volunteers.
