The quality of life in Geauga County is directly linked to its citizens’ commitment to protecting natural resources. Geauga Park District is dedicated to the protection and conservation of the county’s natural areas, which provide abundant opportunities for people to connect with the natural world.
Each of the 23 open parks and preserves highlight unique features of Geauga County, with a large network of trails that are available for activities such as hiking, bicycling, cross-country skiing or horseback riding. The West Woods Nature Center features natural history exhibits and nature art and is open daily 10 AM to 4:30 PM. Picnic shelters and campsites can all be reserved by the public. And numerous public programs and special events of all kinds are held regularly throughout the parks throughout the year.
